John Bohlmann's Teaching Philosophy
A teaching philosophy encapsulates the instructor's view of the subject he teaches, incorportating his knowledge of the subject as well as his beliefs about how it should be learnt.
Unique and Complete Instruction to Improve Your Golf Experience
Learning to play the game of golf involves several levels of understanding.
The first level of understanding has to do with PURPOSE.
It
is paramount that each individual be met with the understanding that he/she has a unique purpose for learning and playing the
game and that this purpose must be defined between student and teacher as THE driving force for the develpment of necessary skills.
Without a purpose there is no point in making an attempt to improve upon skills that many define as difficult.
The second level
of understanding has to do with SELF AWARENESS
As the learning process begins, it is important to come to an understanding of where
you stand as a player in respect to your purpose in the game. This can be done with the help of a few litmus tests and will
define the point of beginning for skill development. Many players will find that a healthy self awareness of mental and physical
fitness will be the most critical factor in the process of learning golf. Each person must honestly meet their current skill
level with integrity in order to avoid the tendency to rate their skills in comparison to other players. The only comparison
that is to be made is the comparison of the self at the current skill level to the self at a different time (past or future).
A self aware student will more readily put the effort into improving the proper skills because he will know which skills need attention.
